NEW- Triathlon camp pamphlet June 11, 12, 13
Come and join the Trident's Triathlon club for their inaugural training camp on the weekend of June 11, 12 and 13th!
Our focus: will be on fine-tuning triathlon knowledge with tidbits on transitions, general training and, of course: on swimming, cycling and running.
The days will be filled with hearty food, group training sessions (at your own pace) and a handful of talks on the above topics.
The evenings include an easy run after dinner, followed by a triathlon related movie or talk for motivation.
The setting: will be at the beautiful Falls Lake facility just outside of Windsor and cozy accommodations in the “Chateau”, a large bunkhouse that sleeps up to 25 people on the property.
If you've never heard of it, the Fall's Lake is a great military secret, and the club's access to this area will make the camp a truly memorable event. Visit the Fall's Lake website for details: http://www.fallslake.ca/
We invite: triathletes over age 12 who have some basic experience in the sport (i.e. are able to at least swim 300m comfortably, able to bike 10-20 km at a slow pace, and able to run 20 minutes at a slow pace), up to the intermediate level to join us. More “elite” athletes are welcome as well, though the focus will be on more general triathlon topics and goals. (Interested athletes under age 16 please contact us for further details).

Cost: Will be 150 dollars and includes meals, accommodations and organized talks/workouts.

Is as follows (though may change depending on weather and speaker availability):
Friday June 11
-4-6 pm Registration and welcome
-6-7 pm Light meal/BBQ at the Chateau
-7-7:30 pm Discussion of running and running techniques/theory followed by easy 30-45 minute run
-8:30 pm Welcome and opening remarks/general agenda. Stress going own pace, no one gets left behind and safety.
-9:00 pm triathlon movie or VCR taped race, refreshments.
-Early to bed encouraged.
Saturday June 12
-7-8 am Breakfast
8-9:00 Bicycle pearls, maintenance, T1/T2 bike hints, pace line safety.
-9-11 Long slow bike. Length/ distance depending on ability. (2 groups)
-12 noon lunch
-1-2 pm swim pearls and technique talk. Different wetsuits, sighting/open water swimming techniques.
-2-3 pm in water. Long slow swim and turn/open water advice. Kayak support.
Multiple 300m loops. (Buddy system encouraged).
-5-6 pm Dinner at the Chateau
-6-7 pm Talks TBA(options are nutrition/injury prevention, heart rate monitors,race preparation)
-7-7:45 pm Light trail run 30-45 minutes
-9:00 pm Movie and/or bonfire (weather permitting)
Sunday June 13
Putting it all together!
-7-8 am Breakfast
-8-9 am Putting it all together/ race preparation/transition setup
-10:00 am Triathlon training “Brick” (300-500m swim, 12-20km bike, 3-5km run details TBA)
-1:00 pm Post event BBQ, awards and closing remarks.
